BLACK RIVER
Renovation Black River, NY
This raised panel library was built on site in an 1830’s Greek Revival house using only basic jobsite equipment and an array of traditional hand tools. As a result it has a warmth and character that is typically only present in historic architecture. Though the ceiling in this room is only 7’ tall, the paneling and trim were designed in proportion with the scale of the room, making it feel gracious and inviting. Before I started on the project the room was completely gutted - all of the interior elements are newly built.
